June 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Casper Live Aircraft tracking offers users the possibility to track airplanes in Europe online, as they either depart or arrive at an airport or fly overhead. CASPER is continuously expanding their coverage and by adding Zurich to their network last week, aviation enthusiasts, aircraft spotters and anyone interested in following a particular flight can now also follow aircraft over Switzerland and Southern Germany. The addition boosts casperflights.com existing coverage in more than 20 locations in Europe.

Launched in the Netherlands last year (2010), Casper Live Aircraft Tracking already has a loyal following - not only by aviation enthusiasts but also from people living close to airports or those whose family or friends are on a flight. On http://www.casperflights.com subscribers can track aircraft across Europe in real time, with rich flight details like altitude, speed and aircraft type. Unique to CASPER are the fluid motions of the aircraft and flight trails of up to four hours. Replays of historic data up to 100x the speed add to the experience, as do colour photographs of the aircraft.

CEO, Heleen Erkamp says “Building CASPER’s network is like playing ‘connect the dots’. By adding Zurich we instantly have a bigger picture of aircraft movements around Europe, as Switzerland connects with our existing locations in Paris and Milan. And the visualization features of CASPER mean that the picture instantly comes alive with rich details, giving our subscribers added value. “

David van de Velde, CFO adds “We have just conducted a survey amongst our subscribers. They were all very enthusiastic about CASPER but wanted more locations adding – which we will continue to do. We were quite surprised to learn that many of our subscribers are not aircraft spotters but just people interested in the planes flying over their house or whose family flew frequently.”

Subscriptions to CASPER currently cost €5,- per month but free viewers also enjoy a fun experience, however with a 15 minute delay in coverage. The addition of Zurich means that casperflights.com now has more than 20 locations in the online network, giving coverage in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland and Portugal.
