High Level of Industry Leader Participation and Strong Technical Programme Announced

June 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (14 June 2011) – The 7th collaboration between the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Society of Indonesian Petroleum Engineers (IATMI) of the Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) is scheduled 20-22 September 2011 at the Jakarta Convention Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia. APOGCE is the premier industry event held annually in the Asia Pacific region, creating the ideal opportunity to focus on the progress of the oil and gas industry across the area, a region known for its diversity, opportunity and capacity for growth.
The 2011 APOGCE theme is “Business and Technology Innovation to Ensure Sustainable Energy”. As the petroleum industry faces ever increasing energy demands, worldwide senior executives and industry professionals will meet to discuss the importance of collaboration and the opportunities for new technologies in ensuring a durable and successful future for the oil and gas sector.
The event will feature an Executive Plenary Session focused on the conference theme, and is an opportunity for top-level senior executive to discuss the current issues facing the industry. The following speakers have been invited to participate in this session; H.E. Agus Martowardojo, Minister of Finance, Ministry of Finance, Indonesia; Karen Agustiawan, President and CEO, PT Pertamina (Persero); Jack Williams, President, XTO Energy Inc. (confirmed); Satish Pai, Vice President Operations, Schlumberger (confirmed); Sudhir Vasudeva, Director (Offshore), Oil & National Gas Corporation (confirmed); and Jeff Shellebarger, Managing Director, IndoAsia Business Unit, Chevron Asia Exploration and Production Company (confirmed).
The 2011 APOGCE will also include over 205 papers and posters from 95 organisations representing 31 countries presented in 22 technical sessions and one poster session, and panel sessions on the following topics: “Attracting Investment in a Competitive Environment”; “Excellence in Project Integration”; “Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage”; and “Unconventional Resources”.
A young professional workshop, an education day, a teachers’ day, Petrobowl and SPE’s Regional Student Paper Contest, will be held in conjunction with the event.
