June 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Tsumori Chisato is a Japanese fashion designer and her signature style is graceful, elegant and fun at the same time. Chisato Tsumori creates dresses, jeans, shorts, and skirts to shoes, tops and accessories are known for being cool and kawaii (which means cute). She uses innovative and luxurious textiles, intricate beading, embroidery, appliqués and playful prints. The designer is extremely popular amongst Japanese girls and is growing in popularity across Asia, Europe, and America.


Tsumori Chisato was born in the city of Saitama, Japan, and she studied fashion at the prestigious Bunka Fashion School in Tokyo. In 1977, she entered the Issey Miyake design company as the head designer for “Issey Sports”, later renamed “I.S. Chisato Tsumori Design”. With this solid apprenticeship under her belt and at the encouragement of Mr. Miyake himself, Tsumori Chisato started her own line in 1990, a collection that made its catwalk debut in Tokyo at the Japan Fashion Week that same year.


In Spring-Summer 2003, she introduces menswear into her collection. In October 2003, Tsumori Chisato presented her first fashion show outside of Japan in Paris. Today, Tsumori Chisato has more than 40 stores throughout Asia, including two flagship shops in (Aoyama and Daikanyama) in Tokyo, and one in Kobe. The Paris store was her first shop in Europe.
