Newburyport Half Marathon Partners with Sub5 Race Management LLC for the Inaugural Run

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- The half marathon was created and designed by Green Stride member, Eli Bailin.  Being a local, it was easy for Eli to create a beautiful course and getting the attention of green friendly businesses was also easy.  However getting the attention of runners around New England and the US proved to be a challenge.  The group believed that they were  presenting a professional race, thus needed a professional representation online.  

"With Sub5 Race Management's 10+ years experience with online marketing, partnering with them seemed like an obvious choice" says Eli.  "Since our first conversation, they have come up with idea after idea on getting word about my race out to the running community and we are already seeing results"  continues Eli.  

"It is always sad to see, what is likely a great race, be represented by an unprofessional website" says Chris Bernier of Sub5 Racing.  "We were proud to give the Green Stride Half Marathon a look and feel that presents the 1/2 marathon for what it is; a professionally designed and directed 1/2 marathon that supports a good cause.  I really foresee this as being a top 10 must-do races in New England within the next few years." continues Chris.

Sub 5 Race Management LLC is owned by runners (with a combined running/ endurance event  experience of 45 + years) with marketing and online marketing backgrounds so they have seen the good, bad....and the flat out ugly in regards to race management.  Seeing what worked and hasn't worked over the years has allowed them to create and manage races that will succeed in both the sponsor's and runners' eyes.

Newburyport has recently been recognized by Gov. Patrick as a green city and a leader in sustainable energy. It is Green Stride's goal to help promote an eco-friendly lifestyle by inviting businesses large or small and local or national with a green initiative within their business plan to be onsite and raise awareness of living in a green community.

The North End Boat Club has been able to create a beautiful course during peak foliage season that will gain the attention of runners from around New England and beyond. This event will have top cash prizes, delicious food, great beer and rockin bands. We encourage everyone to join us for a fun and exciting day.
