Indian River Chamber Announces Local Jobs Grant Award

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- The company was the recipient of the county’s most recent Local Jobs Grant award.  The company plans to fill 12 new positions, many within the next twelve months, at an average annual wage of $55,000. The grant award of $68,000 will be paid over a period of three years after the new jobs are in place. The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce is the designated primary agency for economic development and tourism on behalf of the county.  

The county has a variety of economic development “tools” in place http://www.indianriverchamber.com/index.cfm?method=EconomicDevelopment.Incentives , such as the Jobs Grant program, that can entice new and existing companies to relocate to, or expand in, Indian River County. It’s a performance-based program, meaning the company granted the award doesn’t receive any of the grant proceeds until the jobs are created and filled at the wages stipulated in the grant agreement.

In the past two years, the Chamber proudly announced the expansion of three existing firms plus several new companies locating to Indian River County, four of which are in the high-tech/software development industry:  

•   NetBoss Technologies – 57 jobs
•   OcuCue – 25 jobs
•   eMindful – 70 jobs
•   SpectorSoft – 34 jobs
