By: Petra Parker at KAZ Diversified LLC Press Conference Time: 1 pm Date: June 15, 2011 Location: Bethune- Performing Arts Center - at the Statue 698 West International Speedway Blvd. Daytona Beach, FL 32114 Diversity Motorsports LLC in partnership with the Mary McLeod Bethune Legacy Preservation Institute Inc (MMB Institute), and in collaboration with Bethune-Cookman University presents Racing For Education, a new NASCAR Nationwide Series racing organization. Diversity Motor Sports LLC with co-owners Mr. Terrance Cox, III and seasoned racer and engineer Bob Schacht of Bob Schacht Motorsports. Mr. Cox says he's proud to have Bob Schacht as his partner. With more than 40 years of experience in the motorsports industry, Bob Schacht is a respected veteran with the capabilities of a team leader and innovator. Bob's reputation as a crew chief is well established and he is well known for his race savvy and knowledge. What better way to bring attention to DIVERSITY at NASCAR. Racing For Education, LLC is a joint venture founded by Mr. Terrance Alton Cox III, industrialist and co-owner of Diversity Motorsports Racing; and Dr. Evelyn Bethune, President of the MMB Institute. It is a global enterprise with the vision of bringing awareness and financial support to the need of education around the world. As Mr. Cox says, "I think we all understand that higher education is a common goal for every country around the globe...that all children should be Racing For Education." Racing For Education obviously starts with a race car on a NASCAR Nationwide Series track but evolves quickly into the development of a national brand and the weaving of various constituencies into a network of concerned Americans dedicated to assuring access to higher education for those less fortunate. Racing For Education brings an opportunity for the Historically Black Colleges & Universities ("HBCU"s); the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities ("HACU"s), and other colleges and universities across the country to develop a funding stream that is not subject to the political climate. Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune is quoted as saying: "Education is the key to freedom and knowledge is the prime need of the hour." If that is true, then the opportunity for a quality education cannot be diminished by lack of funding. All people deserve a chance to achieve at the highest levels, no matter their circumstance or economic status. Both of these organizations, the HBCUs and HACUs, provide access to higher education that for many may only be a dream. In these precarious economic times, funding for education at all levels is being cut by city, county, state and Federal governments. Both of these two groups must develop diverse and creative out-of-the-box methods of funding that are available no matter what the circumstances are. The vision of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune is still the same. Racing For Education, LLC is just a fresh new approach of providing the resources needed to help make that vision a reality. Racing For Education management is comprised of experienced entrepreneurs and business professionals from the motor racing, marketing, education and finance industries. Our management team possesses a breadth of functional experience in auto racing, engineering, education, product development, the marketing of specialized products and services, strategic partnering, professional services and corporate finance. It was developed in-house at Diversity Motorsports with partners Dr. Evelyn Bethune, Dr. Hiram Powell, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Bethune-Cookman University and Mr. Adrian Sinden, of Come Monday Consulting, LLC. The team includes Debra Walter, CEO of ImageMakers Advertising, LLC and Maxine Thompson, CEO of Higher Ground Institute. Inc. We all recognized the need to provide quality education for children throughout the United States. While this is the original aim, there is no reason to believe that this initiative cannot spread worldwide and seeks to ensure it is first to market with its aims and successes to ensure its longevity in spearheading the program. As part of the Racing For Education vision for young people across the country, we are proud to introduce one of our youngest driving prodigies, Matt Murphy. Matt is 10 years old and is racing and winning championships within his age class. Racing For Education Rising Star Program is taking Matt under our wings and encouraging him in his school work and passion for racing. We are grooming him for greatness on the track in the near future. This is only part of what Racing For Education stands for. World renown J-Stylz has joined the Racing For Education team to create and donate two songs. The first is titled "Teach One" with proceeds from sale of downloads going directly to Racing For Education. The second is titled Racing4Education.com and is a free download directly from the Racing For Education website. This is an opportunity of a lifetime to increase DIVERSITY in the NASCAR arena while supporting an initiative that everyone can get on board. The 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule and drivers for Racing For Education will be announced at a press conference JUNE 15th at 1pm.
