Accra Releases 1st Quarter Information

The Council for Community and Economic Research, has recently published their first quarter 2011 ACCRA Cost of Living figures.

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Indian River County was one of 312 U.S. communities participating, and had an overall index of 95.8, lower than the national average of 100.0, but one point higher than what was reported in the third quarter of 2010, the most recent available. The New York-Manhattan area ranked as being the most expensive place to live in the U.S. with an overall composite index of 218.4.

The ACCRA Cost of Living Index measures differences between participating areas throughout the U.S. in the cost of consumer goods and services.  The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce has participated in ACCRA quarterly surveying since 1996 and offers demographic and other economic data on the Chamber website http://www.indianriverchamber.com.  

The Chamber also offers a Cost-of-Living calculator on its website, http://www.coli.org/calculator/calculator.asp?GUID={662F73FF-37C1-4ED3-BA8B-4070F0D55016}  comparing Indian River County to other participating communities, based on the current price indexes.
