Rockford Greene International's Phil La Duke reprinted in ASSE Manufacturing Practice Specialty

June 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Internationally renowned safety expert Phil La Duke’s “Why We Violate The Rules” to be reprinted in the spring 2011 American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) manufacturing division newsletter to be published later this month, “Manufacturing Practice Specialty Newsletter.” The article was originally printed in the October 2010 edition of Fabricating and Metalworking magazine, for which La Duke writes a column entitled “The Safe Side.”

“Why We Violate The Rules was always one of my favorite pieces,” relates La Duke.  “I think far too often people turn to enforcement and discipline before really understanding why people are non compliment. This topic is growing in popularity, in fact in April of this year I made a presentation based on this article at the Michigan Safety Conference in Lansing, MI. But I think what really got me was I was also asked for permission to reprint my article Deming’s 14 Points For Safety: Applying Total Quality Management To Reduce Workplace Risk in ASSE’s The Compass. Frankly, in the last several weeks, I’ve had so many requests to reprint or repost my articles and blog entries that it’s getting a little bit difficult to keep straight. It’s gratifying to have so many people saying so many nice things about my work. It’s not often that one gets feedback when most of your work is in print.” continues La Duke, who was approached by the ASSE technical division about reprinting his Facility Safety Management magazine article, Deming’s 14 Points For Safety: Applying Total Quality Management To Reduce Workplace Risk, in its technical newsletter.

ASSE will hold its national conference and expo June 12th –15th in Chicago, IL.  La Duke spoke at last year’s conference in Baltimore. Both Fabricating & Metalworking and Facility Safety Management magazines have booths at the conference and La Duke is expected at the expo.
