June 10, 2011 - PRLog -- New Commercial Driver's License (CDL) courses begin June 16, 2011 at Diesel Truck Driver's Training School in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The courses combine classroom and behind the wheel training to teach students everything they need to know to secure an entry-level job in the trucking industry.

The Class-A Commercial Driver Training Program focuses on the safe operation of a tractor-trailer, both on the road and in the yard. In addition, students will learn how to conduct pre-trip inspections, perform difficult manoeuvres such as coupling and uncoupling and backing up while in close quarters and learn the basics of how to document their activities in their logbook.

The classes run full time, Monday through Friday, from 6am to 4:30pm. Some weekend programs are also available for students who are unable to attend full time. Once students have successfully completed the CDL course, they receive all the necessary permits and endorsements and perform the driving test that is required to receive their Class-A CDL.
Successful students can then take advantage of CDL's advanced Career Services Program to help them find a job as a truck driver at any geographical location in the United States. Diesel Truck Driver Training School's National Career Services Coordinator provides graduates with documentation of their training as well as contact information for employers in the student's local area. Graduates also receive access to the school's Job Leads Database, which contains contact information for thousands of employers throughout the country.

You can register for the courses by filling in an application at www.truck-school.com or by calling (800) 332-7364. You can also request a free brochure from the website at no obligation.

The United States trucking industry currently employs about 8.9 million people. Entry-level truck drivers earn an average of 30.3 cents per mile, with an average annual salary of $32,000 per year. Independent owner-operators can make as much as $65,000 per year.
