Owzat! Cheshire's New Girl's Cricket Team Is Sponsored By Software Sensation Cocentric

June 10, 2011 - PRLog -- THE Middlewich Under 13’s Girl’s Cricket team were simply bowled over when the Cheshire company behind the newly launched Cocentric business software offered to stump up the cost of a new team strip.

For although the newly formed team of 8 to 13 year old girls from across mid-Cheshire were very much starting from scratch, they were totally determined to make their mark in their chosen sport.

Then Middlewich mum-of-three Jane Cottam, who works as Office Manager with Triangle Software of Lower Withington near Macclesfield, decided to broach the subject of sponsorship with Managing Director Tim Thomas-Peter.

Jane, whose 13 years old daughter Phoebe is captain of Middlewich Under 13s Girls and a successful county player explained: “Triangle had just launched the Cocentric business software package which is a unique, affordable and effective software solution for small to medium sized businesses.”

“I could see the company were working hard to raise awareness of this wonderful new software so I came up with the idea of sponsoring Phoebe’s team in return for them carrying the Cocentric logo on their official strip.  I’m very grateful to Middlewich Cricket Club’s youth section for the effort they have made developing Phoebe’s cricket, and I saw this as an opportunity to give a little back into her dedicated club.”

“When I put a proposal to Tim he immediately said ‘yes.’ He was more than happy to support a local cricket team while at the same time introducing Cocentric to a potential new audience. The girls in the team were delighted with the new strip.

“In fact it boosted their confidence so much that they enjoyed a fantastic victory in their first match in full strip.”

Mr Thomas-Peter, speaking from Triangle’s HQ which lies in the shadow of Jodrell Bank, said: “I was very happy to help this young team. They are great ambassadors for Cocentric. Jane has told me how being a team member has had a very positive effect on her daughter and I am pleased to be able to support the team.

“And by having the Cocentric logo on their strip they may well introduce new businesses to a sophisticated but affordable software that has been designed specifically for small to medium sized businesses. Mr Gavin Tomlinson, chairman of Middlewich Cricket Club said: “This season we have put a real emphasis on increasing the number of girls who play cricket at our club. For the first time we have been able to enter a girls’ team in the league format and it has been fantastic to have the backing and support of a local company”

“Hopefully more and more girls will want to get involved as they see how much enjoyment our current players are having. The long term goal is to establish girls teams in several age groups with the hope that in a few years time these girls will represent Middlewich cricket club in an adult female team”
