Boston City Council President to Visit Historic Location for Official Change

June 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Boston, MA – Gibbs College of Boston will officially change its name to Sanford-Brown College, Inc., a private two year college on June 9, 2011.  Boston City Council President, Michael Ross, will join the school’s Board of Trustees, faculty and students in unfurling the new Sanford-Brown College flag, and revealing the new sign for the historic building.

Gibbs School was started by Katharine Gibbs in 1911. The school is located at 126 Newbury Street in Boston. In 1997, Career Education Corporation (CEC) acquired the Gibbs Group.

“We are delighted that Gibbs College of Boston is becoming part of the Sanford-Brown College network,” said Richard E. Farmer, Ed.D., President of Gibbs College of Boston and the new Sanford-Brown College campus. “Becoming a member of the Sanford-Brown network gives us the opportunity to continue to provide the Boston metropolitan area with a high-quality academic institution focused on training professionals in the healthcare and business fields,” he added.

Sanford-Brown College will continue to offer Associate in Applied Science Degree Programs in Business Administration - Management, Office Administration - Legal, Business Administration - Medical Practice Management, Office Administration - Medical/Clinical Assistant, Medical Assisting, Health Information Management and Certificates in Medical Billing and Coding and Medical Office Administration.
