Primary Intelligence: Sources (Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals) SCIP

June 8, 2011 - PRLog -- This session focuses on primary intelligence and describes the model that many corporations follow when determining when and how to use primary intelligence to gain strategic and tactical knowledge about their competition.  Roger Phelps provides an overview of best practices, realistic expectations, and new emerging processes, based on his highly-ranked workshop at last month’s SCIP conference.

Among the issues discussed will be:

•   How to effectively map KITs to primary sources?
•   How to identify and locate difficult primary sources?
•   How to reconcile effective competitive intelligence via primary intelligence with SCIP’s and the company’s ethical and legal standards?

About the speaker:
Roger Phelps is the President of Phelps Research Services in Madison, WI.  He has been a SCIP member since 2002 and has spoken on the topic of Primary Intelligence at five National SCIP Conferences and numerous SCIP Chapter meetings.  His company has been involved in thousands of interviews with its clients’ competitors and has advised many clients on developing primary intelligence expertise as a strategic CI resource.
