Vistage Michigan Selects New Chief Executive Group Chair

June 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Vistage Michigan, a membership-based organization that provides business leaders with business perspectives and innovative strategies named Charles Woodhams of Livonia as its newest Chief Executive (CE) Group Chair.  

Woodhams possesses more than 35 years of experience in management roles in the telecommunications and technology industries.  Most recently, while working with an insurance company as an independent technical consultant, he was hired to the full time position as its director of Information Technology and, later promoted to director of operations.  

His experience also includes transitioning smaller organizations into the technical spaces left open by the unbundling of larger technology companies and serving in consulting and senior management positions.

Woodhams began his career in 1971 with Michigan Bell in a technical management position.  During this time, he was asked to join the Michigan Bell Speakers Bureau, a volunteer public relations organization, which addressed education and civic organizations.  In 1979, his participation was requested in a major technical maintenance taskforce as part of AT&T’s General Headquarters in New Jersey and, later, Bell Telephone Laboratories.

In his role with Vistage Michigan, Woodhams will act as the advisor, mentor, and business coach to his group, conducting one-to-one coaching sessions with each member.  He also will facilitate nine group workshops per year with his chief executive members.

Woodhams graduated from the DeVry Technical Institute with a degree in Electronics in 1965.
