Everyday People Get In The Ring To Fight For A Cause

Sunday, June 12 at the Delta Hotel in downtown Kitchener will be a familiar sight with some unfamiliar participants. This unique event will allow everyday people who have been training for a minimum of 8 weeks to raise money for charities.

June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Coming to the ring on Sunday, June 12 at the Delta Hotel in downtown Kitchener will be a familiar sight with some unfamiliar participants.  A massage therapist, a teacher, and an engineer are all lacing up the gloves for the first time to get in the ring and fight for a cause! This unique event sponsored by Kissner Milling and Regional Safety will allow everyday people who have been training for a minimum of 8 weeks to raise money for charities such as George Chuvalo’s Fight Against Drugs, Ray of Hope, Canadian Cancer Society, Kidzone, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Girls on the Run, Children’s Wish, and School Box.Ceo of Boxing By Syd and Former number 1 World Ranked boxer   Syd “The Jewel” Vanderpool   thought that this would be a great way to entertain boxing fans, help fulfill the dreams of aspiring boxers, and raise money for some worthy causes. “Watching these regular everyday people transform their bodies and minds in pursuit of a worthy cause is truly inspiring.”
   
Jen Kadlec 32 year old registered massage therapist has embarked on this journey of training and conditioning to support George Chuvalo’s Fight Against Drugs.  Mandy McDonald a 37 year old school teacher will also be lacing them up for the first time on Sunday June 12 in support of Ray of Hope in downtown Kitchener.  These are just a couple of the everyday people who will be fighting in support of a local charity.

The evening will also feature Kitchener talent and Light Heavyweight Golden Glove Champion Shawn “The Flurry” Murray in action.  Recording artist Dana Marie will kick off the evening with a musical performance.
Ring card models outfitted by Caeasars Closet Waterloo will keep you entertained between rounds, and there will be a silent auction with proceeds going to the charities.  

Tickets for the June 12 event are $20 for general admission, $35 for ringside seating, and a VIP table of 8 which includes appetizers and wine is $800. Tickets are available at Boxing By Syd Athletic Centre or by emailing info@boxingbysyd.com. Doors open at 5:30pm, fights start at 6:30pm
