Local Pentathlon Benefits Area's Needy Children

Lighthouse Bay residents raised $10,000 for the Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida at their 11th Annual Lighthouse Bay Pentathlon.

June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Recently the residents of Lighthouse Bay raised $10,000 for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida at the 11th Annual Lighthouse Bay Pentathlon.

In addition to a competitive walk and swim, the event included boccie ball, a putting contest and tennis tournament. A breakfast buffet, silent auction and raffle were also offered for participants.
 
Last year, a total of $9,000 in net proceeds was awarded to Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida--In addition, Harvest Time Ministries and Healthy Start Coalition of Southwest Florida also benefited from the event.

The Brooks is a 2,492 acre master planned development in Bonita Springs which currently offers four gated communities: Shadow Wood, Spring Run, Lighthouse Bay, and Copper Leaf.

Children's Advocacy Center, a United Way partner agency, is a crisis center that works with sexually and physically abused children and is designed to be a safe and friendly place for them to come and be heard and help them get on the road to recovery.
