June 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Already one of the hottest tickets in town, the Olympic complex is the same size as Hyde Park and includes state-of-the-art athletics facilities, athletes’ village as well as the remarkable Velodrome.

Completed well ahead of schedule, thousands of visitors are expected to road test the facilities before the games begin in earnest in July next year.

Weston super Mare based coach operator Bakers Dolphin has just announced a series of special day trips to the Olympic Park and is anticipating big demand from people eager to get a first glimpse behind the scenes of the £9.3billion facilities.

Bakers Dolphin sales and marketing director Amanda Harrington said: “With 20 million people applying for tickets for Olympic events, we are expecting our exclusive park preview tours to appeal to people keen on experiencing all the magic for themselves.

“People will be amazed at the sheer scale of the project and how it has completely transformed the capital. This is a perfect tour for people   interested in architecture or the Olympics or in just being part of history.”

Coach tours departing from Bridgwater, Highridge, Weston super Mare, Clevedon and Bristol run from June 18 to October 24 and cost £34 for adults and £20 per child.
Amanda Harrington said the exclusive park tours are an ideal way to sample the full Olympic atmosphere in comfort.

“Our tours take people right in to the heart of the Olympic complex without having to worry about traffic on the M25 or getting across London on the Underground.

“Highspots include a look at the International Broadcast Centre from which the world’s media will report the games, the striking Velodrome, the multi-sports arena, Olympic Village and Aquatics Centre along with the basketball and hockey buildings.

“In addition to the sporting facilities the park has been designed as an attraction in itself. There are waterways all over the Olympic Park and one corner is being kept more natural - after the Games it will actually become the largest urban park in Europe. It’s a great opportunity to see the capital’s future really taking shape and be a part of that Olympic magic.”

The Olympic Park tour is just one of the day trips included in Bakers Dolphin’s brand new Days Out brochure.

Other highlights include all the biggest London shows including the Wizard of Oz and Shrek the Musical, along with summer concerts including Michael Ball, JLS and McFly. There are pages of attractions every month through to the Autumn including some characteristically offbeat destinations including Bletchley Park National Codes Centre and a guided tour of Harry Potter’s Oxford.

Amanda Harrington concluded: “With so many families opting to stay closer to home rather than travel abroad this summer, we have come up with a range of tours to the best UK destinations at a price everyone can afford.”

The Days Out brochure with up to date information about tours available from now right through until the end of October can be requested by contacting Bakers Dolphin on 01934 415 000 or by visiting www.bakersdolphin.com
