Follow on Google News | Tinchy Stryder Launches Thank A TeacherBritish Rap star Tinchy Stryder today launches Thank A Teacher – a campaign aimed at getting some 10 million students at school to say thanks to the teacher, teaching assistant or headteacher who has helped or inspired them the most.
Tinchy – one of the UK’s biggest music stars – is asking students to make themselves a star too by uploading a 20-30 second video to the Thank A Teacher website thanking the person who has made a difference to their time at school. “I know from my school days what kind of impact a great teacher can make,” says Tinchy Stryder, who was a student at St. Bonaventures School in Newham, London. “I had a maths teacher there – Mr. Ashmore - who influenced me and helped me to be who I am today. I want to get all the kids behind Thank A Teacher and name the person who has inspired them the most.” It’s easy to upload a video-clip to the Thank A Teacher website (http://www.thankateacher.co.uk/ “The Thank A Teacher website is being launched to give young people a voice by enabling them to publicly thank a teacher who has made a significant difference to their lives,” says Caroline Evans, Chief Executive of The Teaching Awards/Thank A Teacher. “Thousands of students will be leaving school this summer and nothing could be a better ‘thank you’ to their teacher than a video-clip about why that teacher has inspired and supported them.
