IMR Test Labs in NY Expands Polymer Analysis Capabilities

June 6, 2011 - PRLog -- IMR Test Labs is pleased to announce the addition of a Frontier PY-2020iD Multi-shot Pyrolyzer to our Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry capabilities.  
The Frontier unit is used to analyze a wide variety of materials, including plastics, elastomers, polymers, paints, coatings, oils, greases, and other organic substances.
The addition of the Frontier PY-2020iD adds such inlet techniques as Thermal Desorption, Pyrolysis, and Evolved Gas Analysis to IMR's GC/MS capabilities, greatly expanding our ability to analyze for additives, hazardous substances, and contaminants in many materials.  
As a solid-sampling technique, the unit permits such analyses to be performed with far less of the time consuming wet chemical preparation necessary with traditional GC/MS.
