Follow on Google News | A Birthday Treat For Tring FoodiesTring-based delicatessen and coffee shop, Beechwood Fine Foods, celebrate their first birthday.
By: Alison Page Beechwood Fine Foods, located on Frogmore Street in Tring, Hertfordshire, is celebrating its first birthday and offering customers a chance to taste a number of tempting treats this week, including a British cheese tasting evening, complimentary birthday cake and 2 for 1 on ice cream sundaes. Plus 10% off all gift and greeting card purchases made before 30 June 2011. Frustrated by the lack of locally sourced good quality produce, husband and wife team, Toby and Sarah Murray, started the business in June 2010 with a personal desire to create a farm shop in town, combining their love of home baking with first-rate Fairtrade coffee. Toby laughingly describes how they ‘don’t do sandwiches’ but instead concentrate their energies on a range of delicious homemade cakes, soups and light meals, Marshfield Farm real dairy ice cream sundaes and Fairtrade coffee, available for both eat-in or takeaway. The cafe and a carefully selected range of gifts, relishes, herbs, wholefoods and superfoods are all enticingly positioned alongside the deli counter of British cheeses, hams and meats. Toby explained, “Sarah and I felt there was an opportunity for us to develop something a little different within Tring, based upon our own needs. We wanted to create a unique and friendly atmosphere for those people looking for more than just the off-the-shelf, pre-packaged and mass-produced!
