June 6, 2011 - PRLog -- Fast food chains are continuously booming in many countries. Mega fast food chains like McDonald's, KFC and Burger Kings are the typical fast food restaurants that many grew up with. Following the diversification of the society now, these major players are also coming out with more healthy options apart from their usual calories packed burgers.

Healthier options like breakfast sets are very common amongst fast food chains and due to it's increasingly competitive market, many fast food chains are operating 24 hours a day. Delivery services starts as early as 4am in some countries and there used to be a minimum limit to access the delivery services, now, they even deliver you just one ice-cream when you require them to.

Are healthy food in fast food chains really healthy food? Some fast food chain even count your daily calories intake for you when you order their meals. Some may like these options and the increasing varieties of meals but have you ever considered them to actually be genuine health food? This is a highly debatable.

Breakfast at many fast food chains now are priced at a lower rate than most restaurants. This has attracted many to opt for these breakfast meals before going to work because it is cheaper and more convenient. I cannot deny that i do think of the McDonald's breakfast set when it comes to choosing my first meal several times.  This is because it has became like the go-to places as oppose to our usual food cravings. .

Many fast food chains now serve salads and porridge which are considered 'healthy food' as compared to the usual burgers and fried chickens that so many people still loves. Are they encouraging healthy eating? Isn't it contradicting that these chains are serving healthy food when they earn their big bucks selling overpriced burgers and french fries in the first place?

I am not at all against fast food chains serving more healthy options to their customers, in fact, it gives their customers more choices to choose from, apart from just fried chicken and burgers. I guess it depends on one's perception on how they view this situation. To be honest, i do still have my fair share of breakfast in these fast food chains sometimes.

It completely depends on individuals to figure out for themselves on whether eating salads at fast food chains are considered healthy at all. I guess it does help if you are a busy working class with only time for quick meals and you still want to be having some greens in your diet.

Regardless of whether it is really healthy food that they are serving in these restaurants, one should not over indulge in fast food or any type of food so to speak. Diet plans are crucial not only to those with health issues, but it really does make a difference in the long run if you practice the habit of healthy eating. Start young if not start now.
