June 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Chesterford Research Park housekeeping team, led by Karen Douglas, recently held a raffle at the Park which raised £400 for a very worthy regional cause:  the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).  Karen was inspired to do something for the EAAA having seen them in operation and appreciated the crucial role they have in our region.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance is a 365-day a year life saving service, which is so vital given our regions 5000 sq miles of some of the most isolated terrain in the country.  The service is independent of Government and national lottery funding and is entirely dependent on fund-raising and contributions.

Karen pulled together an enticing array of prizes for the raffle from paint balling sessions to a ‘James’ Hoover, bottles of whiskey and home made cakes.  With the help of other members of the Park Team, tickets were sold to Park tenants with Phil Leonard from BioFocus scooping the coveted ‘James’ Hoover.

Park Manager Katherine Maguire commented: “As part of the community, Chesterford Research Park is passionate about doing whatever we can to support crucial local services, such as the East Anglian Air Ambulance.  Karen and the team demonstrated this passion by raising £400 to help keep our air ambulances airborne and we are very proud of their achievements.”

Chesterford Research Park (http://www.chesterfordresearchpark.com) is ideally situated within easy reach of the City of Cambridge, Stansted airport and the M11.  The Park also operates a taxi service and regular shuttle buses to and from the railway station at Audley End, from which London is only an hour away. At the heart of the Park, The Nucleus building (http://www.thenucleus.uk.com), nestled within a wonderful natural landscape with a beautiful arboretum and lakes offers state-of-the-art meeting rooms and conference facilities with luxury entertaining and relaxing space.  From its position within the South Cambridgeshire Biotech Cluster, Chesterford Research Park is perfectly positioned to offer companies of all sizes attractively located, state-of-the-art facilities.
