June 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Global Process Systems [GPS], a member of the Al Jaber Group, has announced the signing of its latest strategic partnership specifically for the Malaysian market. In the agreement, leading equipment supplier Wenmax Sdn Bhd has been appointed to represent GPS in Malaysia, working in collaboration with GPS' regional offices in Kuala Lumpur.

The partnership has already generated a succession of leads and enquiries and has resulted in an important order for GPS Malaysia. The project, valued at US$17 million, involves the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of a water injection package to be installed offshore Peninsular Malaysia for one of the country’s leading operators. Engineering and procurement activities for the project will be carried out by GPS at its Kuala Lumpur offices while fabrication will take place in Kuantan, Malaysia.

GPS Group CEO Ian Prescott said, “Wenmax will spearhead the marketing of our products and services among Malaysia’s large contingent of oil and gas operators and service companies. Through Wenmax and its extensive network, we will be able to gain closer access to the considerable opportunities that are on the horizon in the Malaysian market,” sentiments that were echoed by Director & General Manager of GPS Malaysia Steven Chadwick.

Managing Director of Wenmax Sdn Bhd, Michael Dato Aziz Eu, said “We are very pleased to have been selected by GPS to work with them in Malaysia. GPS Malaysia’s track record in producing process modules for both onshore and offshore facilities provides a strong platform from which to market the firm’s considerable product and service range to the local oil and gas sector. We are of course delighted that work has already been secured by GPS as a result of our partnership.”

In other news, GPS Malaysia has also secured a contract valued at US$7 million for the EPC supply of a fine filtration skid package to be used on the ONGC Win-Revamp project in India. The contract will also be carried out in Malaysia.
