The U.S. Embassy in Egypt remains committed to supporting bilateral trade and other business opportunities between Egypt and the United States. In 2008, for example, bilateral trade between Egypt and the U.S. was more than 8.4 billion dollars – a 107 percent increase from just six years ago. The United States, which is Egypt’s largest trading partner, buys 33% of everything Egypt exports to the world. In the last ten years, Egyptian exports to the U.S. increased by 262 percent, and Egyptian textiles have specifically increased by more than 400 percent. The Business Visa Program will continue to support a strong U.S.-Egyptian trading relationship.
