Welcome to Glamour, Glitz & Elegance of Africa in the Big Apple

New York, NY— Publicity company, Mon Utopie Ideale | The PR Company (MUIPR), will host The PURE W.H.I.T.E event for consumers of African Pop Culture and their supporters on Saturday, June 11 from 9:30pm-3am, in a private loft (39 W 56 Street).  The night will feature airline ticket giveaway to most African destinations courtesy of Arik Air.  It will also include a premium open-bar all night, as well as music from an array of sources: African Pop, Afro-Cuban, Billboard’s Top 100 Hits, Dance, R&B and House.  With its luxurious WHITE ambience, there is no better venue to celebrate the upscale and high-end lifestyle that is African Pop Culture in NYC.

The highly anticipated affair commemorates the vision of MUIPR: to promote African creative in a non-adversarial context through publicity, marketing and philanthropic or special events.  Advance promotion for the event has generated considerable buzz in the New York metropolitan area.  The special affair will toast iconic African Pop Culture brands whose works have permeated the everyday lives of Africans and non-Africans alike in NYC.  For instance, in the past year alone, Rookie Photography has single handedly cultivated a thirst for high-caliber editorial and commercial images that illustrate the work of African fashion designers, make-up artists and entertainment brands in ways that resonate well with what we see at international events and fashion houses such as New York Fashion Week and Africa Fashion Week.

Generally, trance and techno culture dominate the nightlife scene in NYC.  However, in fewer than 6 months, DJ Universe L.A.:-NIDAS (aka the Party Starter) has carried out a public awareness agenda that is changing this musical landscape in NYC.  At fashion events across the city, nightclubs, corporate events in prestigious venues, and special events such as weddings, DJ Universe has pioneered an innovative platform termed “Afro Techno” that cuts across all Diaspora of the NYC club scene.  In such a short period of time his work has infused Afro-pop with urban techno beats, to create an urban renaissance in sound that edifies the existing nightlife scene in NYC.

Moreover, over the past two years, Nigerian entertainment magazine conglomerate Amebor.com has generated a market and demand for all things hip and trendy about Nigeria, or “Naija” as it’s often referenced in the publication.  Through marketing, press and sponsorship channels, Amebor.com mines Nigerian culture in ways that emphasize its inherent appeal and in some instances bear a striking resemblance to the types of illustrations we see in publications like TMZ.com and Huffingtonpost.com.

Furthermore, MoaCreations a brand that specializes in upscale boutique style floral event design & décor and continues to set trends by fusing Eastern, Western and African themes into a distinct and captivating style that appeals to the upscale and art enthusiast. As a result MoaCreations has now be become a symbol of the African Pop Culture by producing designs that are memorable and out of the box. Due to the high demand for MoaCreations Designs, the company is now evolving as an emerging fashion and interior design brand within the African Fashion Diaspora at large.

According to Ijeoma Genevieve, Executive Director of MUIPR, “the purpose of The Pure W.H.I.T.E event and MUIPR are one and the same”.  “Both celebrate the tasteful production and consumption of African pop culture in NYC.”   “Thanks to the presence of Arik Air, Rookie, Universe, Amebor and MoaCreations, African pop culture in NYC has never been more significant, and uber cool than now”.  Thus, owning to the increasingly popular nature of African Pop culture in NYC, it is no surprise then that some of the confirmed guests for the event already include high-end brands, philanthropists, men and women from the following industries: TV, Film, Music, Fashion, Publishing, Politics and Entertainment.  Tickets for the illustrious affair start at $40.  A limited number of tickets are available.  E-mail info@muipr.com or info@rookie-photography.com.
