Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Announces May NYX Players of the Month

June 2, 2011 - PRLog -- The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and NYX Golf are pleased to announce the NYX Players of the Month for May: Parker Jones of Gainesville, FL and Emily Rymer of Orlando, FL. For their efforts, each player will receive a new pair of PRO Z17 NYX sunglasses.

Parker Jones represented his hometown of Gainesville, FL impressively in mid-May by taking home the title at the JWU Series at the University of Florida in stunning under par fashion.  This was his second win on the HJGT in 2011, after finishing in the top-spot at the Gainesville Jr. Shootout in February proving home “course” advantage makes all the difference.  He opened up the tournament at the University of Florida with a remarkable first day score of five under par, which set him up to finish at the top on Sunday.  He did just that, finishing -6 (65+69=134) for the two day tournament landing him seven strokes ahead of the next competitor.  Jones finished with ten total birdies for the event which bolted him to the leaderboard in par 3, 4 and 5 performances by no surprise.

Emily Rymer took the University of Florida Golf Course by storm when she, like Jones, won the JWU Series at UF.  There was no looking back for Rymer as she was able to post a final score of +4 (71+73=144) for the weekend placing her far ahead of the next competitor in the Girls 14-18 Division.  In fact, she was the only competitor in her division to shoot below a 78 as she was able to post two rounds at or below 73.  Her ability to stay consistent in the 36 holes of play, shooting a total of 25 pars and 4 birdies, was the key to success in Gainesville.
