Odor Control Specialists Designs Treatment System to Destroy Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Odors

June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- RADNOR, PA. Odor Control Specialists (OCS) today announced that it has custom-engineered and deployed a green commercial kitchen exhaust treatment system to destroy odor and grease molecules.  The system is a single pass design that treats 100% of the exhaust.  The result is that odor and grease is effectively eliminated from the exhaust.  System which is about the size of the exhaust louver features low energy use, and has no moving parts, chemicals, or filtration media.  Nor does it produce any waste.

The system was installed at a high end office building with ground level restaurants that was experiencing kitchen exhaust odors on office levels.  The odors were entering the building via both known and unknown pathways.  Previous unsuccessful attempts to solve the problem included building pressurization adjustments, administrative controls, and other measures.  OCS was retained by the landlord to investigate and implement a turnkey solution.  

Based on field testing, source and pathway evaluations, and HVAC analysis OCS determined that a custom engineered exhaust treatment system would offer the most cost effective and successful solution.  OCS’ engineers and scientists then designed the system to destroy the offending odors before they could enter the building.  The system treats 20,000 cfm of kitchen hood exhaust.  

The system has been successfully destroying cooking odors since it was installed in March 2011.  The system is appropriate for all kitchen exhaust systems where a reduction in odor and grease emitted to the outdoor environment is desired or required.
