Open day at activity centre


On Sunday 12th June charity and activity centre BF Adventure near Penryn will hold an open day for the public. From 11am - 4pm anyone from the age of 7 upwards will be able to try various activities including rock climbing, abseiling, archery, canoeing, bush craft, circus skills and a big zip wire.

There will also be a number of other games on offer including an egg and spoon race and a water balloon competition as well as a tombola. Visitors can have a stroll around, join in the activities, bring their own picnic or have tea and cake whilst learning more about the charity's work with disadvantaged children in Cornwall.

Admission is free and only a small fee (between £1 - £4) will apply to take part in the activity sessions.

Britta Hoffmann, Marketing Manager at BF Adventure said: "Last year's was a great success and a fantastic opportunity for everyone in the community to spend an exciting day out and get to meet their neighbours."

"At the same time we are hoping to raise more awareness of our work with disadvantaged children in Cornwall. We know that awful disasters take place around the globe all the time but there are also some pretty terrible things happening on our doorstep everyday. We really need the support of the community to help these children to change their lives and move towards a bright future."

Since 1989 BF Adventure (formerly Bishop’s Forum) has used the medium of outdoor activities to support disaffected young people. The tailor-made programmes help to gain more confidence, overcome fears and develop positive life skills to re-engage within mainstream education, college or enter employment.
