Getting your Kitten Spayed or Neutered Early Saves Lives

This summer several thousand cats and kittens will be euthanized in shelters due to lack of space or homes. The solution to solving this problem is to get every kitten spayed or neutered by the time they are four months old.

May 30, 2011 - PRLog -- The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society's Catmobile will be offering low cost spay/neuter services for cats and kittens in the following Massachusetts and New Hampshire communities in June.  The Catmobile is operated by a licensed veterinarian and two veterinary technicians and has assisted over 15,000 cats and kittens since we started in October of 2008.  Our spay package costs $100 and our neuter package is $75.  It includes a rabies vaccination, flea treatment, ear mite treatment and a nail trim.  Microchipping is available for an additional $20.

"By spaying and neutering your kitten at three or four months of age you will be preventing the accidental birth of many unwanted kittens." said MRFRS President, Stacy LeBaron.  "Experts have shared that if we only got our kittens fixed early all of this unnecessary euthanasia wouldn't have to happen. We need to find a way to stop this killing. Spay/neuter is the answer, not sheltering."

LeBaron's last comment to the community is the saying that everyone should share with their friends.  "Don't delay, spay today!"
