By: Eye on Excellence™ Productions Timothy Tau writes fiction and directs, produces as well as writes films. His short story "Land of Origin" recently garnered Second Prize honors in the prestigious and highly competitive 2010 Playboy College Fiction Contest, beating out thousands of entries. He is currently adapting the short story into a feature-length film project. Under Firebrand Hand Creative, Tim Wrote and Directed "The Case", a detective film that is a hybrid of Film Noir, Sci-Fi and Spaghetti Westerns initially for the Interpretations Initiative sponsored by You Offend Me, You Offend My Family, Fox, Universal Studios and WGA. The full version of “The Case” is an Official Selection of the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and will make its World Premiere there. He has also served as a Writer, Executive Producer and Legal Counsel for Van Blumreich (Vantage Point Productions) Visual Communications (VC), the nation’s premier Asian Pacific American media arts center, held the 27th edition of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival (LAAPFF) from April 28 - May 7, 2011 at the Director’s Guild of America (DGA), Laemmle’s Sunset 5 Theatres, and the CGV Cinemas located in Koreatown. As Southern California’s largest and most prestigious film festival of its kind, the LAAPFF launched the celebration of Asian Pacific Heritage Month through the 2011 slate of 180 films from both Asian Pacific American and Asian international directors from 20 countries. Over the past 27 years, the Festival has presented over 3400 films and shorts by Asian American and Asian international artists. This year, 32 feature films and 148 shorts were showcased throughout the 10-day fest.
