May 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Dawna Lee Heising interviewed filmmaker Timothy Tau and actress Cyndee San Luis of “The Case” at the short film’s premiere at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival on April 29, 2011 at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatre. The film is a homage to the notion of "Genre" and is a detective film that mixes multiple genres including Film Noir, Sci-Fi, Spaghetti Westerns, Horror Camp (in the vein of Ed Wood), and more.  Writer and Director Timothy Tau says that the film “is a tribute to CINEMA in all its forms!”  The film stars Hidekuh Hah, Max Phyo and Cyndee San Luis.  The plot is:   Detective Jack Law gets a visit from a client, Faye S., who asks him to retrieve her kidnapped twin sister from the notorious crime boss, Dr. Acula. Timothy Tau writes fiction and directs, produces as well as writes films. His short story "Land of Origin" recently garnered Second Prize honors in the prestigious and highly competitive 2010 Playboy College Fiction Contest, beating out thousands of entries. He is currently adapting the short story into a feature-length film project. Under Firebrand Hand Creative, Tim Wrote and Directed "The Case", a detective film that is a hybrid of Film Noir, Sci-Fi and Spaghetti Westerns initially for the Interpretations Initiative sponsored by You Offend Me, You Offend My Family, Fox, Universal Studios and WGA. The full version of “The Case” is an Official Selection of the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and will make its World Premiere there.  He has also served as a Writer, Executive Producer and Legal Counsel for Van Blumreich (Vantage Point Productions) on short films such as "Imprint" (Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival), "Fury" (LA Shorts Fest, Cannes), and "The Natural Order of Things" (Los Angeles Film Festival). He is currently in production on and writing a trilogy of short films that The Case will be first in a series of, and working on other documentaries, short films, stage plays, fiction pieces and screenplays.
