Blacknight Win Social Media Award

Tweeting early and often has paid off for the Registrar as Blacknight have won the award for Best Business Twitter account for Sales and Marketing at the inaugural Irish Social Media Awards. Held in the Mansion House in Dublin, the Irish Social Media Awards (sister event to the Irish Web Awards), and honors Irish businesses for their use of social media. Internet registrars are not typically known for their social media prowess, but Blacknight is anything but a typical registrar.

For those who are unfamiliar Twitter is a social networking medium on which users post messages no longer than 140 characters (known as “tweeting”). It is credited with aiding the revolution in Egypt and is gaining a reputation as a preferred news source as information spreads faster via Twitter than any traditional outlet.
