Volunteers needed for Kidney Walk

May 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Volunteers are needed for the annual Western Massachusetts Kidney Walk scheduled for Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Forest Park in Springfield. There are a number of volunteer positions available. High school and college students seeking volunteer hours are strongly encouraged to take part in this inspiring morning.

The walk has two routes, a short route that is approximately two miles and a longer 5k option. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the walk steps off at 10:30 a.m. Westfield State University President Evan S. Dobelle is this year’s Grand Marshal, Fitzgerald & Fitzgerald is the corporate chair and Brandon Butcher of CBS 3 Springfield will emcee the event.

The National Kidney Foundation serving Connecticut and Western Massachusetts is committed to the prevention of kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.
