"I worked as a garage door service technician for 9 years and completed over 15,000 service calls in this time. I finally felt it was time to go out on my own as I enjoy working with customers and helping them move forward with their day. I started in the garage door industry in 2003 after my pottery business slowed down due to the tragedy of 9/11. I picked up this trade and learned from one of the best in this business and look forward to growing my customer base in the future.
Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
Since the Craigslist boom, many people starting branching out from the larger garage door repair companies and started looking for ""side jobs"" to minimize the price of a service call. Unfortunately, though there are many good and reputable one-man gangs out their on Craigslist, that wasn't always the experience the customers walked away with.
What questions do people interested in what you offer most commonly ask you?
My company name came about because of people asking, ""Do you do side jobs?"". Well now I do! Our company mantra is ""Professional services at SIDE JOB prices"" and I intend on delivering that promise to my customers. " "I can sum this up in one word - Experience!
Though completing 15,000 service calls over a 9 year span is not an easy feat, it does allow you to meet people and service every type of door and opener there is in the market since the 1950's. Yes, the 1950's. " It's always gratifying to hear a customer say, "How did you fix that so quickly???"
What makes your website unique?
My experience in the industry is what has allowed me to identify and fix problems quickly and efficiently. So many times customers don't know what a company will charge them for a service call or parts. What do you wish people knew about you or your profession?
Professional service at SIDE JOB prices!" "I enjoy working with the customers and like to fix problems so they can go about their day. No one thinks about their garage door or opener until it breaks. This is where I can turn a minor inconvenience for them to a success in their day.
I have been welding for 12 years and have a trusted associate who also is a professional welder. We have completed custom security doors in many great designs.

I have appeared in IIDA in an article featuring my former employer. Though I'm not particularly fond of appearing in pictures, I have to say that it is one of my favorite stories to appear in International Door & Operator Magazine.
