Neighborhood kids, homeless people, and others looking for an abandoned place to use temporarily could also create issues for you, as you are ultimately responsible for everything that goes on at the property under your control.

Even if you plan to get this house off your books by selling, changing the locks is a good idea. It could take a while for the place to sell and you will want it to show well when you bring a buyer over to take a look. Lock it up tight and avoid the many problems that can come with vacant property.
