Cleveland Garlic Festival 2011

May 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Donita Anderson, North Union’s Executive Director, comments, "We are taking a local food and farm event to another level...an urban county fair.  I don't know if it’s been done before, but from last year's response we know we’re on to something.  So please join us at this fabulous epicurean and music event!"

Inspired by the Gilroy Garlic Festival in California, North Union Farmers Market plans to make this event ground zero “for all things garlic” in the Midwest Great Lakes region. Attendees will enjoy garlic themed food prepared by local celebrity chefs including ice cream and oysters, as well as an onsite Grill Fest, live music, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and so much more.

Cleveland culinary luminaries will be bringing their best garlic recipes to the Grill Fest Contest. The Children’s “Mighty Locavore” Tent will feature activities for kids age 3 to 12.

Admission to the event is $7 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for children 3 to 12 years old for a one-day pass and $12 for adults, $6 for seniors and $3 for children for a two-day pass. Children under three are free.

The event has already attracted lead sponsors which include: The Cleveland Clinic, Dominion, The Regional Transit Authority, PNC and Key Foundation.

So mark your calendars and get out the breath mints—all things garlic arrives in Cleveland this fall.
