Softtek President & CEO Blanca Treviño Awarded Medal of Civic Merit from Gov't of Nuevo León, Mex.

State Governor Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz delivered the Medal to twelve exemplary citizens, selected for their distinguished actions in public, private, social, cultural, athletic and professional activities. Blanca Treviño was recognized for her longstanding professional commitment to the IT industry for the past 20 years, with particular regard to her achievement transforming Latin America’s leading IT services company, Softtek, into a global industry leader.

“This is a time to thank all of you and congratulate all of the recipients of the Medal of Civic Merit. Thank you very much for the example you set in life, for your work and for your dedication.  Thank you for your generosity, for raising your hand and saying ‘here I am’ and for igniting light that shines on the brave people of Nuevo León,” expressed Rodrigo Medina, during the ceremony.  He added, “These citizens have transmitted the importance of incorporating human values in the workplace and, with it, have set an example of social responsibility.”

Blanca Treviño said, “I’ve always felt proud to be from Nuevo León because of everything that our state represents for our country. Throughout the past 15 years, we have invited some of the largest companies of the world to work here, convinced that we could offer the best of services. It’s the talent of Nuevo León that has made this possible. This award is in recognition of that very talent and is dedicated to the team that accompanies me.”

From 1986 to date, four hundred and seventeen people have been accredited the Medal of Civic Merit from the Government of Nuevo León in Mexico. Out of this number, one hundred and four have been women. This year marks the 25th anniversary of this award.

The ‘Medal of Civic Merit’ award was instituted in 1986 by the Government of Nuevo León with the objective of recognizing Mexican men and women (preferably Nuevo León citizens) that have contributed meaningful acts of professional value and creativity within their field for the benefit of Nuevo León community.
