Edd Connor and Gene Millman Honored by The New Castle County Board of Realtors

May 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Two Emory Hill Brokers were honored at the New Castle County Board of REALTORS’® (NCCBOR) annual awards celebration on May 17, 2011. Gene Millman, of Emory Hill Residential Millman West, and Edd Connor, with NAI Emory Hill, were both inducted into the Hall of Fame. Millman was also the recipient of the Mel Stout Ethics Award.

Eugene R. Millman, Jr. of Emory Hill Residential Millman West, was presented with the Mel Stout Ethics Award, named for a longtime member of NCCBOR who served its membership as President and taught the Code of Ethics course for the Board for 25 years. Stout lived his life by keeping promises and doing the right thing. The award, therefore, is bestowed upon a current or past REALTOR® member of the NCCBOR who best exemplifies/exemplified the ideals and goals set forth in the Preamble to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.

Gene was honored to accept this prestigious award, stating that he “strives to set an example of ethical practice for REALTORS® coming into the industry, as the ones before him did”. A donation will be made in Gene’s honor to the Delaware Housing Opportunity Fund, Inc. (DEHOFI), to provide assistance to administrative staff in the real estate community seeking to purchase a home so that they can fulfill the dream of home ownership.

Gene has been a REALTOR® for 26 years, is a Past President of NCCBOR, served on the NCCBOR and DAR Education Committees, and has served on the Delaware Real Estate Commission Education Committee as a committee member and Chairperson. He has filled the role of Director of Training and Career Development in his real estate career and instructs real estate pre-licensing courses and ethics courses for associations on the local and state levels. Gene is one of only two NAR-certified instructors in Delaware for the NAR “At Home with Diversity” designation course.

After many years, Gene continues to volunteer as a member of the NCCBOR Professional
Standards Committee and chairs ethics and arbitration hearings as needed. NCCBOR also inducted Gene and Edd Connor, with NAI Emory Hill, into the New Castle County Board of REALTORS® Hall of Fame in appreciation and recognition of their service to the Board and outstanding contributions to the real estate industry over their distinguished careers to date.

Edd Connor joined the NCCBOR in the late 1960’s. He is a founding member of the Commercial Industrial Realty Council (CIRC), where he has served as Secretary and Vice President of the organization and continues to be actively involved.

Edd has been a part of the real estate industry for 45 years. He began working primarily in downtown Wilmington, leasing and managing office properties along Market Street and Delaware Avenue. Since, he has vastly expanded his sales and leasing practice for clients throughout Delaware and Maryland.
