May 24, 2011 - PRLog -- TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — Retailers from across the spectrum are crafting an eclectic agenda of critical business topics like malicious web site attacks, m-commerce, store design, social and more at the upcoming RetailConnections Business Executive Summit.
Among the speakers and panels at the Fall Executive Summit, Oct. 11-13, 2011, Hotel del Coronado near San Diego:
                 • Mark Neutze, EVP of Stores, Men’s Wearhouse
                 • Ignaz Gorischek, VP of Store Development, Neiman Marcus
                 • David Minster, COO, David Yurman
                 • Jeff Roster, Research VP, Industry Market Strategies, Retail, Gartner
                 • Mobile Retailing CXO Panel
                 • New Technologies CIO Panel
“Retail executives tell us that the freshness of content and new industry voices distinguish our events from others,” said Marc Millstein, president of RetailConnections. “It’s our attendees who drive the agenda and our speakers step up to meet the challenge by advocating new twists on old rules — delivered with surprising candor.”
Also part of the program is the RetailConnections Store Tours, a guided visit to San Diego stores whose environment engages the shopper at a heightened level, for a longer period of time. Limited to a small group of registered attendees, the tours will “bring to life” much of the dialogue that will take place at the Summit.
A retailer-led presentation about distributed denial of service (DDoS) has been added to the program and is particularly timely in view of the major DDoS attack at Burlington Coat Factory this month, said Denise Power, VP of editorial at RetailConnections.
“Distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks rose 22 percent in the second half of 2010, disrupting online commerce for many,” said Power. “All retailers need to re-evaluate their systems, infrastructure and processes to ensure robust authentication processes, firewalls and other safeguards are in place to protect against cyber attacks.”
The RetailConnections Fall Executive Summit gets under way Oct. 11-13, 2011, at Hotel del Coronado, near San Diego. Other topics covered include omnichannel retailing, mobile commerce, social networking, marketing, financial ROI, cloud computing, innovative store design and customer engagement through general sessions, workshops and various networking activities.
The Summit is designed for senior-level (VP and CXO) retail and brand executives and seating is limited.
