May 21, 2011 - PRLog -- Bangkok, Thailand – Author Ivory Simone's debut novel, Havasu Means Blue Water, received a glowing endorsement from columnist Lynia White of Black Book Review.

“This novel has many layers.  Simone skillfully paints a picture of each
character.  The characters play a very different role in the story.
However, by the end the reader can appreciate and understand how the
characters are intertwined.  Simone truly shows her talents as a writer
by creating such a multi-faceted story.  As I read each chapter, I couldn’t
wait to find out how each sub-plot related to the main plot of the novel.
Each facet of the story enriched this novel and gave it deeper meaning,” White wrote in her review.

Havasu Means Blue Water is a multi-layered story about Wilburn, Arizona, a fictional Southwestern town with a violent past-- in desperate need of water and hope. The heroine of the story, Lyla Amir, a young graduate student running from her past, travels to Wilburn to do field research on the unsolved murder of a black farmer and his wife. Her arrival sets off a chain of events that re-write the town’s history and give its citizens a chance for redemption.

“I’m pleased Ms. White gave my book such a strong endorsement,” Simone said, “It’s gratifying to know your work is appreciated.”

Havasu Means Blue Water is available for purchase as a paperback and e-novel from Amazon bookstore, Barnes and Noble bookstore and from lulu.com. The complete book review can be found at http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/ivorysimone .
