Turning Winds Announces NIPSA Accreditation

Membership ensures Montana boarding school adheres to the highest standards of excellence, benefiting teachers, students and parents in the process.
 
May 19, 2011 - PRLog -- TROY, MT – Turning Winds Academic Institute, a therapeutic boarding school for at-risk teens located in northwestern Montana, is pleased to announce its accreditation and membership with the National Independent Private Schools Association (NIPSA). The partnership means greater transparency for Turning Winds and a commitment to adhere to NIPSA’s high standards of operation for its member schools.

“We’re pleased to be partnered with NIPSA,” said Owen Baisden, vice president of operations for Turning Winds Academic Institute.

“Along with accreditations and memberships with other organizations, Turning Winds is setting a very high standard for itself, which will ultimately benefits parents, teachers and students,” he added.

Founded in 1983, the National Independent Private Schools Association is designed to address the challenges that exist within propriety private school operations. Ultimately, the organization’s goal is to provide students with the best possible education.

Along with NIPSA, Turning Winds is also a part of the Northwest Accreditation Commission and The National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP), which also strive to increase the standards of excellence for its members.

The addition of NIPSA is just one of many changes Turning Winds has made to increase the quality of education for its students. Just recently, the school installed nine, 12x16 solar panels to improve the schools energy efficiency.

Baisden noted that more exciting announcements are “on the way.”

Founded in 2002, Turning Winds Academic Institute is designed for children and teens, ages 12 – 18 and is remotely located on a beautiful campus, with an enrollment capacity of up to 40 male and female students. The school institutes a unique, three-step program to ensure each student receives the best possible chance to be mainstreamed back into a typical school setting.
