May 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Finding a company that provides cranial molding helmets is not always easy.  When we refer to a cranial molding helmet, we are talking about the helmets that can be used for the flat spot on your baby's head.  - These special helmets (orthoses) are used to help control head growth and to allow for passive correction of your baby's head.  

Ideal application of these kinds of helmets are before 12 months of age.  You can use one after this point, but it is critical to know that the growth of your child's head begins to decrease at this point in the baby's life.  Correction can be obtained after 12 months, but the results are less positive.

These helmets do not hurt you baby.  Especially because we are licensed orthotists in Chicagoland that provide the service! - An orthotist is specialist in orthotics (not just for your feet!)  and this helmet is considered to be an orthosis.
