The review also breaks down the individual job roles and how many years experience the potential candidate should have. Louise Ashford-Hodges, Managing Consultant at Brand Creative, observes that because, “web design is still a relatively new industry both companies and candidates are unsure about what level of web designer they should be recruiting for and subsequently what salary they should be paying them.” The Creative Salary Review also shows the average amount full time permanent web designers receive and also what freelancers receive per hour. “We thought it would be a good idea to include both permanent and freelance salary expectations. There is always a grey area surrounding these two types of job contracts and our salary survey aims to distinguish between them,” comments Louise. As a short overview, it appears that, naturally, Web Designer salaries are very much dependent on experience.
