Dr. I. Stephen Brown Invited to Lecture to The Cosmetic Consortium Study Club

Dr. I. Stephen Brown, a member of Top3Dentists, spoke to The Cosmetic Consortium Study Club on February 7, 2011 about the use of narrow diameter implants to replace missing teeth in difficult clinical situations.

The exceptional level of success in the use of narrow diameter implants has made this the treatment of choice among many clinicians, particularly for use with patients who have inadequate space between adjacent teeth or insufficient bone volume. The requirements of these special situations have led to the development of narrow diameter implants, and Dr. Brown’s lecture focused on the exciting new developments in expanding the usage of these implants for the solution of challenging clinical conditions.

The Cosmetic Consortium was established in 2000 in Philadelphia as a forum to discuss the latest innovations in clinical dentistry. Membership is limited to a cross-section of exceptional dentists from the Philadelphia area, with strict guidelines for inclusion so as to foster maximum interaction and a free exchange of ideas with the Study Club’s world-class speakers and educators. The Cosmetic Consortium Study Club meets approximately six times a year, with the goal of bringing together speakers and lecturers with their colleagues, in a venue that allows them to discuss what’s new in the field, in a relaxed and collegial atmosphere.

Membership to the Consortium is open to both general dentists and specialists, and events are regularly attended by post-graduate dentists and Residents from the teaching programs at University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Temple University School of Dentistry and Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. Brown’s primary areas of specialization are dental implants and laser periodontal treatment. His membership in Top3Dentists recognizes his focus on continuing education in the latest areas of dentistry, as all dentists who belong to Top3Dentists undergo a stringent vetting process before inclusion into the ranks of those featured on the Top3Dentists website.

Dr. Brown practices with The Perio Group, and is a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, has earned certification in Periodontics and Adult Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and was the first dentist in the US to acquire this rare double specialty. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and The International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Brown is also a Fellow of the American and International Colleges of Dentists, The Academy of Osseointegration, and The College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Founded in 1787, this is the oldest professional medical organization in the country. Dr. Brown serves as Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Professor of Periodontology and Oral Implantology at Temple University School of Dentistry, and Director of the Dental Implant Center at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
