Video Gamers Nationwide To Team Up For Fundraising Event

GameDay website to feature numerous live broadcasts during Memorial Day Weekend

May 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Video game champions and fans from across North America are coming together for one fundraising event.

GameDay 2011 will feature numerous live world record attempts, casual gaming and podcasts over Memorial Day Weekend in an effort to raise money for the International Video Game Hall of Fame, a non-profit organization dedicated to preservation of the video gaming industry.

Almost thirty gamers from across the US are currently scheduled to broadcast, including:

* Live Galaga World Record attempt from the Klassic Arcade in Michigan

* GameDay in Green Bay from Kimmers Bar and Grill in Wisconsin

* 1990 Nintendo World Champion Thor Aackerlund VS Guinness World Record holder Patrick Scott Patterson in a one-on-one Tetris faceoff in Texas

* Numerous live world record attempts from record holding gamers such as Tom Votava in Arizona, Liz Bolinger of Iowa, and Marc Cohen of Nevada.

Game titles scheduled to be played during the event range from The Legend of Zelda, Tetris, Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt to modern hits such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, Madden NFL 11, Just Dance 2 and the new Mortal Kombat.

Donations can be made directly to the IVGHOF through a link on the website as well as through t-shirt sales on the website.  Some live auctions will also be taking place over the course of the broadcast.
