Fountain Valley residents rally to support young cancer patient
Friends, family and supporters of a nine year old Fountain Valley cancer patient, and his family, are planning a fund raising breakfast event in June to help the family with on-going medical and hospital bills.
The fundraiser will help the family offset the rapidly escalating medical bills for the young cancer patient. The fourth grader's life changed overnight when doctors at CHOC in Orange County diagnosed his aching knee as Osteosarcoma. The bone cancer had quickly spread from his leg to his spine, shoulders, skull and lungs.
Up until that time Zach was an active athlete and student. His sudden diagnosis and onset of cancer quickly left him using crutches to get around, and unable to go outside a lot of time, much less play with friends.
For just $10 per person, breakfast will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage and a beverage and $5 will go towards Zach's medical expenses.
