Hollywood Publicist Charlie Barrett To 64th Festival Du Cannes/Cannes Film Festival, Cannes, France

May 15, 2011 - PRLog -- Hollywood, CA - -  Noted Hollywood  film, TV and book publicist expert Charlie Barrett is at the Festival de Cannes aka  The Cannes Film Festival where he is meeting with studio-based and independent film producers and directors for publcity campaigns for drama and comedic  films.  Mr. Barrett, will be publicizing, with producer Alan WIlson of London's  Westwell Productions financing on the noirish thriller " Impact." from a script by Rob Herlbert.  Barrett will also be attending  the Cannes Classics program there for heritage and re-discovered, restored motion pictures while  he is at the Festival de Cannes through May 22nd.

"The Cannes Film Festival," said Mr. Barrett, " is the granddaddy of all film festivals, which grow each year throughout many towns and cities around the world.  I am thrilled to attend this year's event  once more and see the many new  films and  the famous faces that return each year to this enchanting location and have made it was it is today."

Charlie Barrett began his publicist career with 20th Century Fox Film Corporation in New York in the late 1960s working on such films as "The Sand Pebbles," with Steve McQueen, "Bedazzled" with Dudley Moore and "Pretty Poison" with Tony Perkins and Tuesday Weld, among others like "Valley fo the Dolls"  with Sharon Tate and Patty Duke.

In recent years Barrett has worked with distributor Rocky Mountain Pictures,  the late film producer John Daly, Moriah Films' "Ever Again" with Kevin Costner and many, many other productions, including "Unspeakable" with Dennis Hopper.

Earlier, Mr Barrett served with NBC where he was the publicist for Mr Johnny Carson and "The Tonight Show" for many, many years. He also has been involved as a publicist with the award-winning TV series "The Amazing Race" in recent years as well as Bravo's "Millionaire Matchmaker," and earlier "Cops" and "Unsolved Mysteries" with host Robert Stack.
