May 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Energion Publications announces the May 21, 2011 release of a new book, Rite of Passage in the Home and Church: Raising Christ-Centered Young Adults. Father, former youth pastor, and now church pastor, Kevin Brown shares the vision he has been given for teaching about and expecting from our children an involved, discipled way of life.  He believes “The Christian faith depends upon the transfer of the gospel from one generation to the next.” Rite of Passage in the Home and Church describes, not a “program,” but instead a family's commitment to making a change in priorities that will impact them for generations to come.

Pastor Kevin takes on the tough question as to why the church is losing so many young adults as they walk away from the church. How can Rite of Passage (http://energionpubs.com/books/1893729958/) make a difference? The testimonies are pouring in from young people and parents who have made the commitment, are learning more about their relationship with God, and have accepted the baton of leadership that is passed to them.

D. Kevin Brown is currently the Elder/Shepherd of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. A graduate of Appalachian State University with a double major in Marketing and Management, graduating magna cum laude, Kevin worked as a businessman for 17+ years in the furniture, textile-apparel and millwork/ hardwood flooring industries in various capacities within finance and sales and upper management.

Kevin Brown is married to his wife of twenty years, Pam. They have four children.
