May 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Philadelphia – Help for Orphans International and Isabella Garcia of STAE Concierge will be hosting one of the biggest events in Philadelphia, the 2nd annual Help for Orphans International Philadelphia Benefit.  The event will take place on Thursday, May 19th, from 6pm - 10pm at Public House.

The event will feature music by celebrity DJ Chris Kennedy (aka Chris Masterson), DJ SAURJak, a Fashion Installation by SVET, $3-5 drink and menu specials, 50/50 raffle, and prize giveaways.  Celebrity Appearance by Rudy Reyes of HBO’s Generation Kill; photography by Felix Kunze, a London/NYC based Getty Images photographer, and more.

Ms. Garcia (http://isabellantimes.wordpress.com/) held her first Philadelphia benefit with Help for Orphans International (HFOI) last year after the January 12th earthquake which left the country of Haiti devastated.  The day after the event, she traveled to Haiti as part of HFOI’s Haiti relief effort to help Haitian orphans and orphanages.  “Haiti changes you,” Ms. Garcia commented.  “I saw all the good Help for Orphans has done and how much more work we still have to do to help orphans throughout the world.”

Help for Orphans International (http://helpfororphans.org/) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of orphaned children.  They have assisted orphanages in Haiti, Kenya, India, Central and South America.  HFOI not only provides short-term relief efforts; but focuses on education and sustainable practices to provide real, long-term solutions to the problems orphans face, and a strategy to help them become self-sufficient and contributing members of their community.

According to UNICEF’s 2006 report, there are 143 million orphans in the developing world - 1 in every 13 kids.  A statistic that Help for Orphans International’s founder, Sarah Ehrlich (http://sarahehrlich.com/), finds “heart wrenching.  HFOI was started after a business trip I had taken with my husband to Kenya.  I knew I had to do something to help these children.”  In recent years, celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and Madonna have helped increased awareness over the issues orphaned children face.

Everyone is invited to come and support this charitable event.  Public House is located on 2 Logan Square (18th St. between Arch & Cherry), Philadelphia, PA 19103.  Tickets are $15 online or $25 at the door.  Event information and tickets may be purchased at www.HFOIPhilly2011.charityhappenings.org.  All ticket sales, donations, and raffle proceeds will go directly to Help for Orphans International.

Benefit Committee:  Jack Muler, Krystal Souvanlasy, Audrey Julienne, Aleksandra Svetlichnaya, Sarah Ehrlich, Isabella Garcia

Interviews and photos will be available upon request.
