Arctic Ease Announced As Official Sponsor Of The Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon

Participants of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon will see Arctic Ease several times throughout the weekend including the GNC Live Well Pittsburgh Health and Fitness Expo at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.  Expo hours are from 11:00am – 8:00pm on Friday, May 13, 2011 and from 9:00am – 6:00pm on Saturday, May 14, 2011.  Arctic Ease will also be visible during the Toyota of Pittsburgh Kids Marathon and the UPMC Health Plan/UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K Run.  More convenient than an ice pack, Arctic Ease offers its users the benefit of cold therapy without the loss of mobility or frustration of multiple applications.

Arctic Ease will also bring an important face to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon – General William “Gus” Pagonis was the director of Logistics during the Gulf War of 1991 and is widely recognized for his logistical achievements particularly during Desert Storm. After successfully masterminding logistics for the Gulf War and winning high praise from General Norman Schwarzkopf, Pagonis left the Army in 1993 and was elected Executive Vice President of Logistics for Sears Roebuck & Co. His experiences resulted in the book “Moving Mountains: Lessons in Leadership and Logistics from the Gulf War”, published by the Harvard Business School Press. General Pagonis is a true hero who uses Arctic Ease wraps every day during his run.  Marathon goers will have an opportunity to meet with General Pagonis on Saturday, May 14, 2011 from 12 to2 at the Arctic Ease booth.

This 2011 event will be the largest in the Pittsburgh Marathon history. In total, over 22,000 runners are expected to participate in five events over the course of the race weekend, including Saturday’s UPMC Health Plan/UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K Run and the Toyota of Pittsburgh Kids Marathon.
