Raleigh International Church Celebrates 12th Pastoral Anniversary

May 10, 2011 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, NC – On Sunday, May 15 at 10:00am, Bishop Garland Hunt will be the guest speaker at Raleigh International Church (RIC) as the church celebrates Pastor and Mrs. Thornton’s 12 years of ministry.

In the vanguard of servant leadership, Pastor and Mrs. Thornton have directed dynamic ministries such as Women's, Men's, Couples, Children’s, Missions, Singles, Teens (RICROC), Praise & Worship, Drama, Hospitality, Media, and Intercessory Prayer.

“The word says that many are called, but few are chosen. I know that I was called to be a pastor because I awake everyday to co-labor with the Father to help meet the needs of His people,” says Pastor Olden Thornton of Raleigh International Church.

Similarly, Pastor and Mrs. Thornton have fervently and passionately led RIC to become an instrumental pillar in the Raleigh community and surrounding areas.  RIC has participated in evangelistic events and projects such as the recent Alabama tornado relief project, Passage Home, Convoy of Hope, RIC Hope Connection, mission trips to Nicaragua, El Salvador, and India, amongst many others. RIC was also awarded “Church of the Week” on the 700 Club for its evangelistic efforts in the community.

For more than 20 years, Pastor Thornton and his wife, Bertha have served under the leadership of Bishop Wellington Boone and Garland R. Hunt, who remain their spiritual covering and close friends. Together, they serve Raleigh International Church (RIC) through pastoring, administration and direct oversight of the Women, couples and children's ministries. Prior to pastoring RIC, Pastor Thornton served as a part of the ministerial staff at Manna Christian Fellowship (MCF), Richmond, VA.
