May 9, 2011 - PRLog -- San Francisco, CA - A combination procedure to restore lift and volume to the face is especially suited to men and women who are in their 40's and 50's, according to Dr. Randall Weil, a board certified plastic surgeon who practices in San Francisco and San Jose, CA. The minimally invasive procedure consists of a "mini" cheek lift done to lift and define the mid-face area and to smooth the jawline, which can take years off a person’s appearance.

After the lifting procedure is done, Dr. Weil performs the second portion of the procedure -transferring fat “harvested” or taken from another area of the person's body such as the abdomen, and placed in the cheek areas. The transferred fat tends to last much longer than synthetic injectables, allowing the man or woman to have all-natural tissue in his or her face rather than synthetic fillers.

“As people age, the fat pads under each eye begin to slowly descend’” says Dr. Weil. “It only takes about a 3 to 5 millimeter drop to make a person look noticeably older. This type of mini-lift restores the proper position of the fat pads and also rejuvenates the mid-face including the so-called “smile lines”.

The combination procedure is done under "twilight" anesthesia and takes about two hours, says Dr. Weil.
